From time to time, I self-publish my work. This is my point of purchase machine, dispensing the latest from my desk. It's a 28" tall replica of my head with the inner workings of a Pez dispenser.  More build details below.

What my head's currently distributing: Breakfast at Castro's.

Materials include MDF, a newspaper and masking tape armature covered in pulp-based papier-mâché, acrylic paint and one custom spring to raise the inner shuttle.

The process began with disemboweling a Pez dispenser to study the mechanics, followed by sketches and a cardboard prototype. The base and head were built in tandem, making sure everything fit and moved properly. An industrial spring maker crafted the spring and helped with the necessary design. A spring is a very specific thing. Overall, lots of staring at myself.
